Eva Breckon’s American Dream series is now on show at the gallery.

New to the gallery today – Eva Breckon’s American Dream series. Eva spent quite some time living in the USA in one of her previous incarnations as a jazz musician/composer. Very striking and individual work.  Here is how she describes it:

Everybody Needs a Dream

Every person depicted in this series of paintings has a story beginning in a land far, far away, but ending in America.  For many, the idea of America, a country founded on a declaration of independance, freedom for all and democracy, helped them endure the many struggles that came with leaving their birthplace and finding a new home.  America, in spite of all its many flaws, still adheres to the notion that anyone can make it with hard work.  The American Dream lives on.
