ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
Trying a new or different approach to a painting at times is something I believe is important for keeping your interest (in painting) and mind (ideas/inspiration) fresh and active. I’m afraid I’m not a fan of producing endless repartitions of a theme (something that can get you trapped, even if it becomes your point of recognition). Although I’ve rendered this attractive native heron in my normal realistic manner, the background was achieved using a variety of free-form and experimental applications to create the impression of a lily pond.
