ABOUT THIS ARTWORK A concept I find interesting is combining figurative subjects with a contemporary or abstract background format that may lend itself to the opportunity of a continuing series that doesn’t become boring or sterile to paint or view. The ‘She Comes in Colours’ paintings focus on using colour to change the visual impact of the subject while still rendering a realistic form superimposed on a standard format geometric abstract background. Thus, creating an image that is purely about the mix of colours and the natural beauty of my subjects, nothing more, nothing else (a rose by any other name etc.).
