ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
A contemporary allegorical image (maybe) inspired by an often repeated subject in the history of art and literature – The temptation of Saint Anthony. There were two different episodes commonly used from the life of Saint Anthony in religious art, I’ve used the one more fitting for a contemporary interpretation where Anthony was assailed by seductive women in an attempt to break his will and sin. All these ancient Saints would probably be committed by contemporary standards.
